A lesson plan is a crucial tool for teachers, serving as a blueprint that outlines the structure of the week’s lessons. It helps teachers plan and organize activities, materials, and teaching strategies in a systematic way. By having a well-prepared lesson plan, teachers can ensure that learning objectives are met efficiently and that lessons run smoothly. It also provides a clear roadmap, allowing teachers to manage time effectively, adapt to students’ needs, and maintain a structured yet flexible learning environment. Ultimately, a lesson plan enhances the overall teaching process, making it easier to accomplish educational goals.

Weekly Lesson Plan ( Demo Teaching about Night and Day)

The curriculum used in LPRU differs significantly from that of the Philippines, particularly in the way content-based subjects are introduced. In LPRU, subjects like Mathematics and Science are not yet implemented or emphasized at the kindergarten level, focusing instead on foundational skills and holistic development. On the other hand, in the Philippines, these subjects are already integrated into the curriculum as early as kindergarten, aiming to introduce young learners to basic concepts in numeracy, science, and critical thinking at an early stage. This difference reflects varying educational philosophies and approaches to early childhood learning.

For my lesson plan, I designed a weekly plan on the topic of Day and Night for Kindergarten. I began by introducing key vocabulary words—Sun, Moon, Clouds, Day, and Night—using flashcards as instructional materials. On the second day, I introduced a clock and integrated daily routines to highlight the importance of schedules. The third and fourth days focused on daytime and nighttime activities, respectively, using flashcards and a stuffed toy to demonstrate different routines. Finally, we concluded the lesson with a coloring activity of the Sun and Moon, reinforcing the concepts in a fun and engaging way.
